Poor Latvia...

So, Canada wins 16-0 over Latvia...does a team like that really need to be in that tournament? Just a waste of time for everyone involved...

I'm sure they could have put a team of juniors just from Ottawa out there and it would have been a win against Latvia....it's just so unfair

Was newsworthy here for Canada to beat Latvia...checked a latvian paper online and nothing...sure it's also the same for the other countries

I'm all 4 enthusiastic fans, especially when cheering for the home team, but did the fans really need to wave their towels when it hit 16-0?

A "mercy rule" is needed so better teams don't have to keep scoring....not looking to end the game midway through, but cap goal differential

Kudos to TSN for trying to convince me during their pre-game show that the Latvians could actually compete with Canada...I wasn't fooled :-)

Kudos to Latvia for not losing their tempers...I'm quite sure I would have been looking to knock someone's head off in a beatdown like that!

Next game is against the mighty Swiss on Monday...I'm guessing if the Swiss hold Canada to single-digits, they'll be ok with that result...

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I'm finally completely over being sick yet again this week...so an extra special Christmas present yesterday from Santa...the gift of health

Anyone else feel like Christmas just came and went like nothing? Each following year, it's becoming more and more like a normal day....damn!

Don't see good things for the Sens tonight against the Sabres...Buffalo is doubly pissed by losing bad to the Caps and Ruutu's hit on Kaleta

My boxing day shopping got derailed by freezing rain...oh well, doesn't seem like Boxing Day even matters anymore....it's about Boxing Week!

Just read that Canada has been dethroned as the most friendly country in the world! NOOOOO! We lost to Bahrain...hmm, didn't see that coming

Oh my god! I still cannot believe my girlfriend gave me a shot glass that says, "Vaginas are awesome!" for Christmas....Rosalie is the best!

Late entry for worst joke of 2009 goes to Paul Steigerwald from Pittsburgh...making fun of death by plane crash was unsuccessful and awkward

Die Hard = Awesome!

It really wouldn't be Christmas without watching Die Hard at least once...it was on TV last night...surprised there was no language editing!

Is it just me or does Hans Gruber look a lot like well-shaven and suited Tom Green when he was hosting his show in his Rogers Cable 22 days?

So ironic that after Carl Winslow shoots up the last terrorist, the limo driver that picks up John McClane and Holly looks like Steve Urkel!

People always tell me that I look a lot like Tiger Woods....I just noticed that Rosalie looks close enough to be Elin Nordegren....so weird!

Random thought...what's the deal with people wanting to trade me money for my gold? The Cash Man down in Toronto has some competition now...

I must be getting old too...it took me over an hour to figure out how to get my crackster hooked up to Facebook and then upload a mobile pic

Getting a lot accomplished on a Monday morning...

Look at me getting my blog written for the day at 930 this morning before the show gets started...I'm getting a bunch of things done already

For those who haven't been told by a co-worker, today is the shortest day of the year....oh right, it's Ottawa...no one is working this week

C'mon man! How does Russell not win Survivor last night? Guess the jury hated his lies so much, they'd rather give it 2 someone else instead

The Bills lost again, this time to the Patriots...dammit! We're 5-9...no doubt it would have been so much better for us to be 6-8 instead...

From Adam Schefter: Jerome Harrison rushed 4 more yards Sunday than Thomas Jones, Cedric Benson, Tomlinson, Addai and Marion Barber COMBINED

Really think the Sens go to Brodeur tonight over Elliott....Brodeur played well and the Sens get another look at him against NHL competition

And now, a few minutes with Andy Rooney...

As much as I wanna say that I was watching the Sens-Wild game last night, I wasn't...it was all about the Cowboys-Saints...thank god for PVR

Huge win for Dallas...How does Nick Folk miss a 24-yard field goal from the middle of the field...it's 4 yards longer than an extra point...

If you had told me before the game that the Cowboys would score 24 points, I would have told you that the Saints would win by double digits!

Great for Mike Brodeur to get win #1 last night...He had to wait over a month just to get in there, but he looked sharp when he needed to be

Thought Minny would either rally around the equipment problem and play lights out or use it as a crutch and look lifeless...was more like #2

My buddies and I recently got into a kick of playing Andy Rooney videos on youtube for each other...lemme share the wisdom of Andy Rooney...

Finally a chance to write again....

My apologies for taking so long in between posts...fought off a 2-day flu and then lots of Christmas programs 2 get prepared for at the Team

I made the same point last time I was sick, but it's funny what your mind thinks of when you're in bed and only have a lapper 2 entertain...

Can someone tell me where "Jersey Shore" came from and how it came to be so popular so quickly? I'm assuming it's another MTV production....

I know the exact video that produced the idea for the show....can't post it, but type in "Guido Beach" on youtube and click on the 1st video

Tiger Woods story with Jessica Simpson ranked #1 on ottawasun.com today...ranked #10 is story about food/toys stolen from church...kinda sad

While I was sick, I managed to stumble upon Mr. Bean and the great comedy of Rowan Atkinson...I forgot how hilarious these bits really were!

Monday Fun!

Definitely getting used to this 6 a.m. wake-up call business now...I've got a ton of energy right now...just waiting for the crash to hit...

Glad to see that a "Battle of Ontario" game actually has meaning tonight...Sens and Leafs are both playing well going into tonight's game...

Do we see Colton Orr/Matt Carkner fight again tonight? Going on past history of media-hyped brawls, they probably behave and nothing happens

Bart Andrus is let go by the Argos...as the Farj said to us this morning, the Toronto media saw that on their Cracksters and just hit delete

Tag Heuer decided to keep sponsoring Tiger...I guess he showed excellence and great time management skills with wheeling 10 women at once...

I guess Accenture wasn't as confident in keeping him around...What? I still think there was possiblity in their "Go On, Be a Tiger" campaign

Tweet of the Day from Bill Simmons: Two more sponsors have decided to stand by Tiger Woods: Vivid Video and Trojan Ultra Ribbed Ecstasy :-)

NFL Week 14 Keys to Victory

Gonna do the football blog a little different...gonna give one key for each team playing today...so 14 games=28 teams and 28 keys to victory

New Orleans vs. Atlanta

New Orleans: After clinching the NFC South last week, all they'll play for now is best record in NFC....is there enough motivation for that?

Atlanta: Can they overcome injuries to starting RB Michael Turner and starting QB Matt Ryan? Chris Redman has to be much better this week...

Denver vs. Indianapolis

Denver: The running game is finding its stride....rushed for 245 yards last week....need a similar performance to keep Indy's D on the field

Indianapolis: The Colts have to match the intensity that the Broncos will bring....Denver needs this game badly for their playoff chances...

Seattle vs. Houston

Seattle and Houston: Same key for both...with both teams at 5-7, the team that comes out feeling less sorry for themselves will win the game

Carolina vs. New England

Carolina: Matt Moore is in again for Jake Delhomme....he has to be good enough so that the Pats don't load up completely against the run....

New England: Can they overcome the off-the-field distractions going on around them this week? Is Tom Brady anywhere close to 100%? We'll see

Buffalo vs. Kansas City

Buffalo: The Bills have had trouble putting points on the board...if they can't do it against the 30th-ranked defense, they deserve to lose!

Kansas City: Will Matt Cassel return to the form that convinced K.C. management to fork over 28 million guaranteed? We may see Brodie Croyle

Detroit vs. Baltimore

Detroit: The Lions are a bad football team with Matt Stafford....just imagine how bad they're gonna be today with Daunte Culpepper starting!

Baltimore: Seems like all the Ravens have to do is show up and they get to 7-6....Joe Flacco has to be better for this team down the stretch

Cincinnati vs. Minnesota

Cincinnati: The Bengals have the top-rated defense in the NFL, but can they handle a great offense led by Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson...

Minnesota: The Vikes struggled on offense last week against Arizona...AP ran for season-low 19 yards...will they continue to struggle today?

N.Y. Jets vs. Tampa Bay

N.Y. Jets: Mark Sanchez - out and Kellen Clemens - in...but Clemens won't be a big factor....the Jets have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL

Tampa Bay: Josh Freeman cannot make as many mistakes inside the red zone as he did last week against Carolina...5 INTS is just unacceptable!

Miami vs. Jacksonville

Miami: How much momentum do the Dolphins carry over after a great come-from-behind win against NE? Could prove 2 be a season-changing win...

Jacksonville: Mike Sims-Walker not expected to play....this means the Jags will rely even more so on Maurice Jones-Drew and the run game....

Green Bay vs. Chicago

Green Bay: Despite 3 turnovers and 11 penalties, they still pulled it out against the Ravens...just have 2 clean up their game to get to 9-4

Chicago: Simply put, the elite-level players for this team have not performed this year...Jay Cutler has to be better, so does Matt Forte...

St. Louis vs. Tennessee

St. Louis: Steven Jackson has been great despite playing 4 the Rams, but Kyle Boller has to be better to add a passing threat to the offense

Tennessee: Vince Young is out, but it really doesn't matter who plays quarterback right now...Chris Johnson is playing like a man possessed!

Washington vs. Oakland

Washington: Were they able to use the week between games to get over the loss to the Saints? From my vantage point, it doesn't look like it!

Oakland: Bruce Gradkowski is bringing stability to the QB spot in Oakland...there might be hope for this team after all...get rid of J-Russ!

San Diego vs. Dallas

San Diego: You gotta give credit to the Chargers...they always find their game in December and every aspect of their game is coming together

Dallas: Can Tony Romo play well in a December game? Wlll the defense struggle for a second straight week against a potent San Diego offense?

Philadelphia vs. New York Giants

Philadelphia: DeSean Jackson is back for the Eagles....will he be playing at 100%? If so, the Eagles have their dangerous deep threat again!

New York Giants: Brandon Jacobs has to be a factor tonight for the Giants to win...in the last 3 games, Jacobs is averaging 35 yards rushing

I got to see the Olympic Flame!

Walking downtown and minding my business...was headed 2 the bank machine...and all of a sudden, here comes someone with the Olympic Flame...

I watched the young woman run with the flame for about 10 seconds, then went about my business of getting my drinking money for the night...

A group of buddies are trying to do "The 12 Bars of Christmas" tonight...my bet is that they get to 6 at the most before laziness sets in...

My one try at that was about 5 years ago with a couple of friends from high school....managed about 9 bars in the Glebe....I only remember 6

My roomie loves curling and didn't like my curling criticism...he tried 2 force me to watch, but he got bored after 5 ends...I rest my case!

Stupid winter business!

Everyone who told me it would be a terrible walk to work was absolutely right...just awful to be out there....winter has officially arrived!

Headline today: "Roads get worse, crashes on rise"....Thanks Captain Obvious! It would be newsworthy if it said, "roads worse, no accidents"

I noticed news today about Josh Brolin being cast for Men in Black 3...wait what, Men in Black 3? As the Scratches would say, BAD IDEA JEANS

Terrell Owens signs a deal with a modelling agency...only a matter of time before it happened...modelling and a diva like TO need each other

Gatorade drops Tiger's drink, but they insist that decision was made before the accident and subsequent news about Tiger's infdeilty....Sure

Even I think the Tiger story is getting out of hand...once the words "Nude Tiger" and "Playgirl" hit the wires, that's my time to jump ship!

Sportscall Debuts Today!

A ton of people were surprised to hear me with Lee on "SportsCall" from 10-12 today...it's a great opportunity and I'm happy to be on board!

Sorry I didn't tell you guys sooner...trust me, I wanted you to know....it was bad enough waiting for a week before starting this morning...

Special thanks to those who wrote to congratulate and wish me luck...guess the Late Crew with Dirty and I had listeners after all...LOL :-)

Angry Al is one of a kind: J.R. is teeing up the new show and Angry re-names us "The Failed Sunday Best Co-Hosts"...I like Sportscall better

Only a couple of people who were upset with me taking over the spot....all I can say to them is to give me and the new show a chance to grow

With my experience of doing the new show thing a couple of times already, it usually takes 2 weeks or so to find the rhythm between hosts...

I can promise that you'll have full preparation from me each day and all I want is to try and entertain for 2 hours....let's have some fun!!

Plenty of videos today....

I can't believe the amount of people this weekend who complained there WASN'T snowfall yet....am I the only one who wants a green Christmas?

Good on the Sens for showing up for 60 minutes and picking up the W against the worst team in the West...at least people were there to watch

Owner Eugene Melnyk commented on his team yesterday...I found myself agreeing with him for once...the elite players simply have to be better

But he lost me when he said his team has been in every game they've lost this season....1 game they played this weekend debunks that idea...

Once again, "God bless the internet"...it never fails...can't think of a better way to bring in the holiday season: http://sketchysantas.com

It's not like they were dominated....

Frustrating if you were a Sens fan watching last night's game....scoreline would reflect a one-sided game, but thought the Sens hung with SJ

Too many mental errors...a too many men and over-the-glass penalty and a couple of miscues in their own zone...have to be perfect to beat SJ

I thought Brian Elliott needed to be better...the first goal was weak and it set the tone for the Sharks...and the 4th goal was unacceptable

Not sure what game the intermission boys were watching...after 2, they thought Elliott was solid and the Sens had a chance of winning...hmmm

Great game for Michalek and the other former SJ player was invisible...eventually, it will be known as the Heater for Michalek trade only...

So, why can't we see a Heatley-Thornton-Marleau line for Team Canada in a couple of months? Why break up something that's clearly working?!?

Heatley-Thornton-Marleau combine for 6 points and now have 30 points together in their last 6 games...Stevie Y said he wanted chemistry :-)

Heatley haters have had a tough week...the chance for the Oilers to get revenge was lost with a 5-4SO loss...Ottawa did no better last night

A second woman has come out with allegations of having an affair with Tiger...Jamie Grubbs has texts and a voicemail to prove it...not good!

Predictable suspension for Ovie....Colin Campbell just waited 2 see how much time he would miss and then they suspend him for that period...

Another example that superstars get preferential treatment...the NHL doesn't want their main meal ticket to be labelled as a dirty player...

That's a heck of a deal for the Bruins to get Marc Savard for that little....but another example of those ridiculous front-loaded contracts!

How can "expansion" ever come out of Bettman's mouth when you have so many teams struggling like they are? Let the American dream go already

I like Chad Ocho Cinco's theory on where Tiger was going that fateful night in the Caddy at 2:30 a.m. - He was headed to the waffle house...
