So, I recovered enough after being physically and sexually assaulted all within 24 hours to get myself over to Miller Park yesterday for the game between the Brewers and the Rockies.
It's the first stadium out of 27 I've been to where the entrance literally meshes with a residential neighbourhood.....you're slowly driving through an intersection that you would find in any suburb when all of a sudden, you're at the entrance for the parking lot of Miller Park.....kind of odd...
I had heard great things about the stadium, but right from the first glance, you can tell that this is a world-class facility for baseball....It was a pretty cold day here yesterday, but luckily Miller Park also boasts a retractable-roof stadium and the roof was closed for the game...I love the fact that they have windows all over the place so that the sun can come in no matter how the roof is....there were shadows on the first-base side towards the end of the game...
All throughout the trip, I've focused on unique characteristics about each stadium and the ones at the top all have them, and Miller Park is no exception....it includes the slide in left field where the mascot comes down after each homerun, the Brewers clock in right field and of course, the Sausage Race in the 6th...
I know, the Sausage race is another promotional tool, but I've never seen a promotion that is so popular with the fans....people talk about the race and wait in anticipation for it....absolutely everyone was on their feet to watch....
It also has a great atmosphere for the whole family and the fans of the Brewers are excited enough about the team that they still had 35 thousand in the stands yesterday for a Thursday afternoon game....
I debated for quite a while as to how high I wanted to put the park and thought about the idea of putting it as the Number 1 spot, but in the end, I just couldn't put it ahead of San Francisco or San Diego, but it's now the new Number 3 spot....
