Because of rain?

Doing my daily reading of both the Ottawa Sun and Citizen to get ready for today...I read a good blog entry from James Gordon of the Citizen

Talks about the value of Jason Spezza 2 the Senators and how some of his negatives are overblown by fans of the team and people in Ottawa...

Then I remembered reading about a rally happening on Parliament Hill Saturday to show support 4 Spezza and convince him to stay in Ottawa...

I re-read the article, only to see at the bottom of the screen, "The rally will be held unless it rains, or Spezza gets traded before then."

Wait, what? Someone or some people would go through all the trouble of organizing a rally and then be willing to throw it away due 2 rain...

Are they saying, "We love having Jason in Ottawa and want 2 show our support, but we don't love him enough to stand in the rain for him..."?

Could you just imagine how the course of history would differ if most/all of the important rallies of modern history were cancelled by rain?

It's just another example of how Spezza is shown support when times are good, but when things are bad (or if it rains), it quickly goes away
