First Rainout of the Trip....

We left the rural area of Branson to head down to St. Louis, but it was really hard to leave the house because it was the first time we had been in a house since we started the trip 30 days ago and it was the first time we had a home-cooked meal as well.....it's pretty crazy, but I haven't cooked anything for myself since I left....my body is starting to show it already.....lol

We made it to St. Louis about an hour before the game, but the whole ride over was so muggy and cloudy....you knew it was only a matter of time before the rain came, but we were hoping that it would hold off to get a game in....

We got to the stadium and it has a beautiful backdrop with the Gateway Arch and other office buildings around....it's an impressive stadium and the best thing about the experience is the fans....the Cards have the best attendance figures in the league and they really make it a great place to watch a game....

As far as the stadium itself is concerned, it's not a bad place, but it really lacks that big characteristic...it's hosting the All-Star game in July, but it loses big points because a village that was supposed to be built across the street is now just an empty lot since the economy forced construction to stop....

We managed to squeeze in two innings, but as the game started, the temperature was starting to drop considerably, the wind was picking up and the skies around the stadium were becoming more and more black....I have never seen anything like that before....it was almost like something out of a movie....and sure enough, the huge rain started to come down....

We waited it out until 9:00.....we thought the game would start again since it hadn't rained for 20 minutes, but they called the game because of more showers in the area....there was also lightning all over, so it makes sense....just too bad, but nothing you can do....

So, here's the new updated list:

1) Minute Maid Park
2) Camden Yards
3) The Ballpark in Arlington
4) PNC Park
5) Citi Field (New Mets Stadium)
6) Fenway Park
7) Yankee Stadium
8) Citizens Bank Park
9) Busch Stadium
10) Turner Field
11) Tropicana Field
12) Nationals Park
13) Dolphins Stadium (now named Landshark Stadium....lol)

Off to Kansas City now for the Royals game tonight and then it's another four days before I see a game, so lots of down time in the last week, but the travel is going to pick up next week and I will be on my own as well, so that will be a new experience....
