It was one of the big worries that I had when thinking of doing this....what would happen if I were to be sick at any point in the trip? Well, we're at that point, but luckily, it's not as bad as it could be....
We went out to a restaurant in Houston last night called Two Boys and lemme say, it was a great place to go.....great food and a great microbrewery in the back that pumped out 8 different homemade beers....
However, I enjoyed the restaurant a little too much 'cause the mix of food I had has given me nothing but stomach problems, even up to now....the mix consists of: two pints of beer, three more samples of beer, 2 enchiladas, rice and beans and a piece of ice cream cake....lol.....kind of ridiculous, but all the food was so good!
So, I was out of action for going out in Houston last night....problem is that even if I wanted to go out on a Monday night in that town, the only thing I could do would be see a play or musical downtown and then go to a wine bar of some sort.....everything else is closed on Sundays and Mondays....I can understand the Sunday part because christianity and religion in general is just huge in these parts, but I'm still not sure why Monday is so dead also....
Houston itself has nothing really happening and it ranks up there with Atlanta as one of the most boring cities that we've been to during the trip....there's nothing to do and it's soooo hot there that people try to avoid being outside at all costs....walking around through downtown is like a ghost-town.....there's nobody outside!
So, it was just a night of suffering with stomach problems and watching the NHL playoffs on Versus....luckily, it's only the 2nd place out of 15 we've been to so far that has Versus...so I got a chance to see the OT for Washington/Pittsburgh and the Hawks finishing off Vancouver last night....
We're now in Arlington getting ready to watch the Rangers and Mariners tonight, but I'm gonna do as much as I can to just rest and see if I can get rid of these stomach problems as soon as possible.....to think that I've been on the road for 27 days now and I still have 37 days left.....it's an awesome trip, but it is a marathon of sorts....
