A Night on the Town in Dallas!

Sorry about the delay between posts, but we ran into connection problems with the blog network in Dallas and then we stayed with Chris and Greg’s cousin in Branson, Missouri last night, so didn’t really have the motivation to wake up early and get it done, so I’m typing this as we drive to St. Louis for the game tonight...

So, like I did before, I’ll just split this into two seperate entries and then we’ll be caught up....I still have to add pictures as well and I haven’t forgot about that either....so I will do that ASAP...
Anyways, our last day in Dallas was up and down for me....I will still battling the stomach problems during the day, but I didn’t want to let a little stomach problem ruin my sightseeing of every city, so I battled through the 95 degree heat for a couple hours to see a couple of neat places, including the spot where JFK was assassinated....but I needed a couple of hours of rest after that if I was going to have any chance of going out at night...

So, it was back to the hotel and after a couple hours of rest, I felt perfectly fine, so Chris and I went out to the Cowboy Salloon to start the night off.....

I have never seen a club that was as big as this one....the Ottawa comparison I could make would be to Barrymore’s....you can fit 3 Barrymore’s into this place easily.....there were 5 or 6 seperate bars and in the middle, there was a massive wooden track that looked more like a roller-skating rink than anything, but a couple would just do the two-step around this track over and over again.....only in Texas, I suppose....

There was a local country music band playing that night....I don’t hate country music, but I just find it all the same....and this band was no exception....the best track of the night had a chorus that went something like this: "Have a shot of triple, so then you’ll be seeing double and acting single..." LOL....too bad the song sounded exactly all the others....ah well

The problem was that there was only 50 people there and 30 of them left after the Daisy Duke contest where local girls just wore super-short jean shorts and were paraded around like a pageant....oh, how the Texans love their beauty pageants....

We then headed to the Million Dollar Club to check out the suggested strip club of the day....pretty interesting club since they have three different stages where girls are dancing and they also have a bunch of TV’s where you can watch ESPN and the other ESPN channels as well.....as James Abson put it, you can watch some boob and watch some tube at the same time....well played Abby....

The highlight of the night was the Pacman Jones wannabe actually making it rain dollar bills all over a couple of the dancers...I guess this is what you do in the States to make yourself look like a big-shot in the strip club....pretty ridiculous....

We decided to call it a night at about 1:30 a.m. since we had a 8 hour drive to Branson ahead of us, but at least I was able to leave Dallas with my stomach bug virtually gone....
