Landed here last night after 8 hours of travel time between Minneapolis and Toronto, so I just decided to check into the hotel and then have a couple of pints of Keith's at Jack Astor's and then hit the sack for the night....
I've realized that I don't need to exchange my money here because people freak out when they see American money and ultimately, you end up getting things for dirt cheap because they can't figure out the exchange rate....it's great! I should only get 1.10 for American dollar that I spend, but I only paid 6 dollars instead of 7.50 for each pint that I drank last night, paid 5 dollars for pizza that should have cost 6 and just paid 75 cents for a drink at Starbucks that was supposed to cost 2 dollars.....lol....like I said, why bother changing my money when I'm stretching my American dollar to the max thanks to stupidity.....
Which leads me into more of an op-ed type of post than anything....there are a lot of people walking around here thinking that their crap doesn't stink.....it's incredible the kind of ego that these people walk around with in this city and I've yet to come up with a reason as to why....I've put it about 2 out of 5....that is, I'm having trouble holding myself back from not punching out 2 out of 5 guys to get their stupid smirk off their face....
I can understand that this is the "big city" in Canada, but in the grand scheme of things, Toronto just ends up in the category of "Big Fish, Small Pond".....Let's pit it up against some of the bigger cities that I've travelled in just in the last six weeks...
- New York City has way more people, the world's money flows through there and tourists flock there by the millions every year.... Advantage: New York
- Washington has the most powerful government in the world based out of there and many of the world's important people will make a stop in Washington to do some serious business.... Advantage: Washington
- Miami has unbelievably beautiful people and their weather cannot be topped.... Advantage: Miami
- Los Angeles is full of celebrities and people who want to make it big in the entertainment industry...and they don't get snow either.... Advantage: Los Angeles
If someone can tell me what the city of Toronto presents that puts it above everyone else and allows their population to walk around with an unworthy sense of entitlement, I would like to know what that is.....but I have yet to come up with anything....
Now that I have that off my chest, I'm off the Hockey Hall of Fame followed by the Jays game tonight....get a chance to see Zach Greinke....if you follow baseball and don't know who he is, he's only kept the Royals afloat much like Doc Halladay has for the Jays....a pitcher with awesome stuff and his record and ERA show it....if you get a chance to sit down to watch the Jays tonight, do it just to get a glimpse of Greinke....he's a good one.... (he better not pitch a stinker now!)
