Off to Miami!

We have a busy day ahead of us here as we've decided to make a couple of changes to the sked....we've added watching a game at Legends Field, the spring training facility of the Yankees....it's known as the nicest minor league park around and it's right down the street, so that game starts in an hour...we'll then head to Miami to squeeze in the Marlins game tonight instead of baking in the sun tomorrow afternoon....so lots of travel in one day....

Tropicana Field was not as bad as people were suggesting before I left....so maybe I went in with really low expectations and could never be disappointed, but I was content with the stadium....

It's by far the smallest stadium that we've seen so far, but it makes for a nice, intimate atmosphere....because of the dome, everything that is yelled can be heard all over the stadium as well.....unfortunately, only 13 thousand showed up for the game yesterday, but the noise of the crowd was pretty loud and echoed throughout the place....

Another thing that makes it different from any other stadium we've been to is that it caters more so to families and senior citizens....I guess that retirees are all over the place here, and with promotions like Rays Bingo, they will have them coming back....the section I was sitting in was all senior citizens....they won't make a lot of noise, but they do enjoy coming to the games....

After the game, we went to go celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but with it landing on a Tuesday, the bars really weren't all that busy, but that didn't stop the bars from offering some awesome Cinco de Mayo specials....one bar that we ended up in had a deal for a 3 dollar bottle of Corona, 4 dollar margarita and a 5 dollar double-shot of petrone....check

Another bar had a deal of a shot of bourbon and a beer for 2 dollars....check

Every bar was also offering tables to play beer pong for 8 dollars.....I thought getting beer for 86 cents in Pittsburgh was cheap, but Tampa is even cheaper apparently....At this rate, my liver might be on its last legs before I even hit California....lol

After tonight, I'll be a third of the way done....we're starting to get there....pics up tonight from Atlanta and Tampa! :-)
