I sit here in my bed wondering how the hell I'm up at 9 a.m. since I only got back from the club at 4 a.m., but I wouldn't trade the experience of yesterday for anything in the world....
With no baseball game to have to get to, it was the first day in a while where we could just relax and do whatever we wanted....that meant a slower start to the day and not leaving the hotel room 'til about noon and that was fine by everyone....Greg has only been with us for a handful of days, so he wouldn't be as road weary yet, but Chris and I are getting weary as we travel along....three weeks of being on the road going from hotel room to hotel room is starting to drain on our energy, so any little chance we can get to rest that extra hour or two is going to be taken advantage of at this point....
We then headed to South Beach to just relax on the beach for a few hours.....what a magnificent sight and by far the best beach that I've ever been to.....the sand is soft, the women are unbelievably hot (and a few them topless as well...lol), and the water is clear with a hint of blue....what you would see on a prototypical tropical postcard is what you get....the only drawback was going in the water and coming out and tasting nothing but salt for 15 minutes, but I'm nit-picking at this point...lol
We also learned that an Adult Film trade show is happening this weekend at the Miami Beach Convention Centre called Exxxotica where over 100 porn stars are going to be in town as they come in for various events during the weekend....i'm not gonna give you the link since there's a lot of NSFW pics on the site, but I can't stop you from using the power of google, now can I? :-)
We then headed to downtown Miami just to see what it would be like.....we quickly found out that NOTHING goes on in downtown Miami...at this point, we figured it out....why would anyone want to hang out in downtown Miami when you could be in South Beach?!?! We went back to the hotel to gameplan what we were gonna do for the night...
We decided on a place called Mac's Club Deuce since it was highly recommended online by everyone...this includes Esquire magazine that had it at number 7 for best bars in the US because of its ability to be a dive and yet, have a vast array of people show up from the lowliest of people to celebrities such as Quentin Tarantino and Cameron Diaz....
We got there and sure enough, there was a group of blondes in the corner, a group of emo kids in the middle, a hippie couple in another corner....and so on....we ended up sitting beside a very eccentric person in a Marlins t-shirt and his friend....we start to chat and we tell him about the trip and he gets unbelievably excited and asks us a million questions, then I ask him what he does for a living....turns out he's a prominent lawyer in the state....would have never guessed that, but just another patron at Mac's Club Deuce....
He starts to tell us how the state of Florida is completely in the tank now because of how flawed the government is and because of the overall lack of intelligence in this state....I feel comfortable saying that today because it was confirmed by a local, but one of my big thoughts a couple nights ago at the baseball game was just how dumb the people were around me....he then recommends a place called the Clevelander and we were off...
Highly recommend this place if you just want to chill, but drink costs are nowhere to what I was getting used to....if I could get a full beer for 86 cents in Pittsburgh, that same 86 cents will get maybe an eighth of a beer at this bar....but the atmosphere was incredible and the women were just incredible...lol
And the price of drinks was nothing to what we would have paid for if we went to a full-out club....cover for one place was 80 dollars for couples, 25 dollars for a girl and 100 dollars for a guy! Unreal!
Anyways, we're off to the beach for a couple more hours, then to Orlando for the night.....I'll get the South Beach pics up later.... :-)
